Just a quick note that – after 5 years- our paper on the gradient grammaticality of superiority violating wh-questions is now finally accepted for publication for a special issue that will appear in Language and Cognitive Processes:

In this paper, we present evidence that superiority violations in English show gradient acceptability (rather than being categorically out or “ungrammatical”) and that the observed gradience in acceptability is correlated with processing difficulty at the verb (presumably, the point of highest processing complexity in the sentences we looked at).
